Meth Bust In Logan County
A home invasion became a meth bust.
West Virginia State Police in Logan County responded a reported home invasion off Route 10 in Mallory just after midnight on Saturday.
While en route to the location, troopers were advised the location was a suspected meth lab.
When they arrived they found 51 year old Cheryl Ann Griffin, 30 year old Katherine Juanita Salyers, 41 year old Tammy Copley, 28 year old Tommy Lee Salyers, 41 year old Jimmy Dale Arthur, and 36 year old Elijah Ferrel Hatfield Jr. standing in the back of the house. They were detained for officer safety while troopers cleared the home.
They found crystal meth on the back staircase of the home. One of the individuals informed troopers there was a back pack in the woods behind the home containing meth and precursors for a mobile meth lab. Troopers found the backpack and called in the clandestine meth lab removal team.
All six were arraigned in front of Logan County Magistrate Jeff Lane who set at $100,000 dollar bond for each. They are charged with Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Possession With Intent To Deliver, and Conspiracy. There is also a charge of Production Of Methamphetamine pending.
Each could face up to 50 years in prison if they are convicted and receive the maximum sentence.
