1,400 New Cases Confirmed by W.Va. DHHR


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,400 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, West Virginia has 22,864 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,171 West Virginians have succumbed to the COVID-19. An unprecedented 42 people died in the last 24 hours.


West Virginia has 74,737 cumulative cases of the virus.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 10.25%.


According to the color-coded map released by the WV DHHR this morning, 46 counties are either in orange or red categories.


Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo and Wayne counties are all in the red zone.


Wyoming County is orange.


McDowell County is yellow.


West Virginia has received 21,075 doses of vaccine. As of press time, 15,914 doses have been administered.
