3 New COVID Cases In Logan, New State Cases Hit New Low & Free Testing For Virus In The Coalfields



New cases of COVID-19 were reported in Logan Tuesday.


The Logan County Health Department confirmed three new infections of COVID-19 have been discovered through laboratory testing.


Five more cases were cleared for recovery Tuesday.


Logan County now has 31 active cases, 3,189 recoveries and 90 fatalities for a cumulative total of 3,310 cases of COVID-19.


Three people are now hospitalized.


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 96 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.


One additional death was reported. A total of 2,822 West Virginians has died due to complications from the coronavirus.


W.Va. active cases are down under four thousand with a daily infection rate of 2.79%.


Hospital cases in the state are down with 144 patients. The hospital cases include 57 patients in ICU and 20 patients needing a ventilator.


Free Testing for the virus continues in the Coalfields Wednesday.


Most Walgreens pharmacies conduct drive thru testing each day between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

In Logan County, the Man Pharmacy will administer tests by appointment from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Call 304- 583-9910 to schedule an appointment.


Southern West Virginia Health System will conduct testing at 202 Larry Joe Harless Dr in Gilbert between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.


Tests will be available at the Lincoln County Health Department in Hamlin between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.


Tests will also be administered at the Wayne Community Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

There will be no charge for a test.


I.D. is required and those under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present.

Testing is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
