Babies Born with NAS Eligible for Compensation

Updated: Aug 18, 2020

A group of West Virginia attorneys petitioned a judge to force the state to release the names of babies born exposed to drugs as part of the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy case.

The group of lawyers says with those names, they can send families a notice of pending litigation and seek compensation for them. Attorneys say some families may not know they qualify for compensation.

Attorney Booth Goodwin said the deadline for individuals and entities to file a claim against Purdue Pharma in the bankruptcy case is July 31.

The complaint was filed in Kanwaha County Circuit Court. [NOTE: This story was originally published on the old WVOWRadio.com on July 29, 2020.]
