Coalfields Counties Gold, Orange and Red Ahead of New School Map Saturday


As of 10 o’clock Friday morning, West Virginia has 3,375 active cases of COVID-19.


According to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, a total of 502,803 tests have been administered. To date, a total of 13,687 tests have returned positive for the virus.


In the last 24-hours, 253 new infection were reported in the mountain state. Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.85%.


Logan, Lincoln, Wayne and Wyoming counties are classified in the “gold” category today.

Boone County remains “orange” and Mingo County fell down to “red.”


The rate of spread for the virus in Mountain State is now the second worse rate in the nation just behind Delaware.


A new School Re-entry Map will be released by the state department of education tomorrow at 5 o’clock.
