Former WV delegate reported to prison



Former West Virginia Delegate Derrick Evans has reported to prison as of Tuesday.


The former delegate out of Wayne County, Evans was previously sentenced to three months in prison for participating in the riot of the US Capitol on January sixth.


Evans is an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Michigan, according to the Bureau of Prisons.

Evans was elected the state House of Delegates in November 2020. He live streamed his entrance in the Capitol along with a surge of protesters attempting to halt the counting of electoral votes for President of the United States.


Following his prison sentence, Evans will be on supervised release.
