A resolution passed by the Logan County Commission last week guarantees loan payments between the Logan County Housing Authority and the West Virginia Property Rescue Initiative.
The commission’s resolution establishes an account for the Logan Housing Authority in the amount of $250,000 to make payment on loans if the authority is unable to make payment.
The Property Rescue Initiative provides loans to local governments to conduct demolition projects on dilapidated properties and buildings.
Commissioner Diana Barnette said thirteen properties have been identified to acquire, demolish and finally put back on the market for purchase.
