Martin Co. Water Board To Petition For Rate Increase

During a special meeting, the Martin County Water Board voted to ask the Kentucky Public Service Commission for permission for a 10% rate increase. For the average customer it would mean an additional $5 a month.

Board members say the increase is needed as they try to improve the water quality in the county because most of the budget is going to pay off debt from years before.

Within the next 10 days the board is planning to put together a rate increase request for the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
