A Mingo County man was taken into custody in connection with a Wayne County shooting.
41-year-old Matthew Napier was fatally shot Monday morning on Perry Street in Prichard.
60-year-old Dwayne Brewer of Mingo County was arrested in connection with the incident.
Troopers said they Brewer left the scene as they arrived. State Police said law enforcement officers chased him to the Fort Gay area on Hewlett Road when he left his car and escaped in a wooded area. He was later found and arrested in the same area.
Police say the two men knew each other and may have lived close to each other on Perry Street.
