Mingo Co. Schools Move To Green

An updated map from the state Department of Health and Human Resources Monday morning places only two counties, Logan and Monroe, in the red and orange categories when it comes to COVID-19 cases.

The DHHR said the percentage of cases have improved in Lincoln and Mercer counties moving them from orange to yellow. Logan County, the only county in the red, has a rolling 7-day average of 33 new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population. Monroe County’s average keeps it in the orange category.

Last week, Mingo County was labeled an orange county. Mingo is now in the green.

The state reported just 40 new cases overall from Sunday to Monday. The daily positive test rate is at 1.7 percent. There are currently 141 people in the hospital with COVID-19. Forty-seven of those patients are in intensive care with 23 being treated on ventilators.
