Mingo County is mourning the loss of one its county commissioners.
Mingo County Commissioner Gavin Smith reportedly died early Tuesday morning. He was 64.
A social media press release from the Mingo County Commission reads, “His time on the commission may have been brief, but his impact is undeniable.”
Smith was president of Stacy Equipment and Repair in Gilbert. He was elected after defeating incumbent Greg “Hootie” Smith in the 2020 General Election.
