Neal Scaggs, Logan Businessman Died at 85

Long-time Logan businessman Neal Scaggs died Monday.


Scaggs served as president of Baisden Brothers, Inc, Southern Equipment and Logan Auto Parts Inc. He was a board member of the Logan Broadcasting Corporation, the parent company of WVOW Radio.


Scaggs was a founding member of Premier Bank in Logan, now People's Bank, and served on the bank's board of directors. Scaggs served a stint with Marshall University's Board of Governors and served the United States Navy from 1958 to 1960


Scaggs was one of the early organizers of Logan Buddy League basketball and was the all-star coach for many years.


Scaggs will be remembered and recognized for his community leadership and local philanthropy.


Graveside services will be conducted at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Monday at 1:00 p.m.


He was 85.
