Number of Red Counties Falls Below 10


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 574 additional cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.


As of 10 o’clock this morning, West Virginia has 18,469 active cases of coronavirus.


Twenty-two deaths were reported over the last 24-hours. Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,080 West Virginians have succumbed to coronavirus.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.52%.


Today’s county alert map reports 9 counties in the red category. Mingo County is amongst the red zone counties today.


Orange counties include Logan, McDowell, Wayne, Wyoming and 23 other counties.

Eleven counties are gold, and seven counties are yellow.


Lincoln County is the only green county today.


W.Va. has administered 199,458 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of 10 o’clock this morning, 79,513 residents have received both rounds of shots.
