Priscella Cline-Smith struck & killed by auto on WV 80 Wed. morning.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred this morning around 6:30 a.m. along Route 80 in Christian.

The victim, 62-year-old Priscella Cline-Smith of Verner, was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling north on 80. Smith was assisting with a tractor trailer crossing the bridge at Paradise Island for a food giveaway scheduled to commence this morning.

The crash is still under investigation.

Smith served as the Executive Director of Miracle Island Unlimited. She began the food pantry seven years ago at her Paradise Island attraction at Christian. Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, Cline Smith said she had to choose between running her lodging business or feeding the people. She chose to feed the people

Smith was feeding around 7,000 people each month through her Miracle Island ministry.

She was a regular caller to WVOW’s What’s Your Opinion to talk about the food pantry. She said on Tuesday episode she has Jesus to thank for work feeding the surrounding communities.

“We wish people year-round, Merry Christmas,” Smith said. “he’s the reason for anything and in everyday of our lives. Jesus is the reason we’re here. Let’s feed his people and our people.”

Today’s food pantry was cancelled, but the food boxes won’t go to waste. The Hungry Lambs food pantry will distribute the boxes this Friday at the Logan Resource Center at Peach Creek beginning at noon.
