The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 797 new cases of COVID-19.
As of 10 o’clock Wednesday morning, West Virginia has 23,571 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,953 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus. Twenty-five deaths were reported in the last 24-hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 6.03%.
According to the state DHHR county alert map released this morning, seventeen counties are in the red category. Red zone counties include Logan, Boone, Mingo and Wayne
Orange counties include Lincoln and Wyoming.
McDowell County is gold.
Lewis, Summers and Mercer counties are yellow.
Tucker County remains the only green county.
West Virginia has 117,775 cumulative cases of coronavirus.
