Boone County woman fatally struck by vehicle

Troopers say 28-year-old woman was struck and killed in Boone County after she ran into the roadway. The driver remained at the scene.

MADISON West Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly accident in Boone County after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle over the weekend.

Troopers were called to the scene Saturday (10/4) on Pond Fork Road near Madison. When they arrived, 28-year-old Kaitlyn Gilliam of Uneeda was discovered dead in the roadway.

According to the incident report, witnesses told troopers that Gilliam ran into the road just before being hit. The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators.

No charges have been filed.
