The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,303 new cases of COVID-19.
As of 10 o’clock Thursday morning, West Virginia has 22,957 active cases of coronavirus.
Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,228 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Thirty-four people died in the last 24 hours.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 7.90%.
According to the color-coded map released this morning by the WV Department of Health and Human Resources, 47 counties are either in orange or red categories.
Boone, Logan, Lincoln, Mingo, Wayne, Wyoming and 29 other counties are all in the red zone.
McDowell counties are orange.
West Virginia has received 60,875 doses of vaccine. As of press time, 18,488 doses have been administered.
