MAN A Logan County Sheriff’s deputy died Saturday in a crash involving his cruiser and a coal truck. Sheriff PD Clemons confirms the collision happened Saturday afternoon around 4:30 at the intersection of West Virginia Route 10 and Rum Creek Road, between Dabney and Lyburn. The deputy was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger riding in the cruiser was airlifted from the scene. Their condition is unknown.

MADISON A Boone County jury has recommended mercy for a grandmother convicted in the death of her 14-year-old granddaughter. 79-year-old Donna Stone of Morrisvale was found guilty Monday of murder by child neglect and child neglect causing death in the death of Kyneddi Miller. PECKS MILL A 77-year-old Chapmanville man died Sunday following a single-vehicle crash in the Pecks Mill community of Logan County. West Virginia State Police identified the victim as Steve Disco.
