The Logan County Health Department reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday evening.

Health Department Director Steve Browning confirmed the 12 cases after laboratory testing. Seventeen recoveries were also reported Wednesday night.

A total of 59 cases were reported Tuesday. Browning said most of the cases are not new, and the spike in cases was a result of an unidentified facility’s delay in reporting from early January. The reason for the delay has yet to be disclosed.

Logan County has 222 active cases, 2,347 recoveries and 67 fatalities for a cumulative total of 2,636 cases of COVID-19.
