Flood watch extended across much of West Virginia

CHARLESTON The National Weather Service in Charleston has extended a flood watch across much of West Virginia through 8:00 Wednesday morning as a slow-moving weather system continues to bring the potential for heavy rain and flooding.
The watch covers 28 counties and portions of several others. Heavy rainfall is possible through Tuesday and into Tuesday evening, and the National Weather Service says areas that have already received significant rain could be more vulnerable to additional flooding.
The watch includes Logan, Boone, Mingo, Lincoln, Wayne, McDowell and Wyoming counties in southern West Virginia, along with several other counties from central up into northern West Virginia.
The National Weather Service is urging people in areas that have already received heavy rain to remain alert for rising water and changing conditions.
