Local businessman and former state legislator Joe C. Ferrell died Sunday.
Ferrell was involved in numerous business ventures in his career. Most notably, he was owner and operator of Southern Amusement, and an early supporter of the Logan County Airport development.
Ferrell also served several terms as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates between 1982 and 2002.
A public graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Highland Memory Gardens with Rev. Jay Nunley officiating.
He was 72.
