W.Va. Governor Jim Justice is contemplating further incentives for vaccinations and now employees returning to work.
Justice has begun offering $100 savings bonds or gift cards for vaccinated individuals ages 16 to 35.
Justice said he is revisiting the incentive plan to solicit even more vaccinations against the coronavirus.
Moreover, Justice is contemplating an incentive bonus plan for West Virginians returning the workplace.
Originally, Justice said he considered using COVID relief funds for a matching plan with employers offering bonuses. However, Justice has since said that many businesses can’t afford bonuses.
Justice is now vetting a government funded bonus without the matching required from small businesses.
Justice estimated 18,000 people have signed up for the $100 vaccine incentive since it debuted.
