LOGAN A Pecks Mill man has been arrested and charged with counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree and Incest, according to a criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court.
The accused, 27-year-old Cody Brian Adam Hobbs, is accused of sexually assaulting his own 10-year-old child.
According to the criminal complaint, the child and the child’s mother first reported the alleged crimes to the Chapmanville Police Department back on April thirtieth. Logan County Sheriff’s Office was notified and an initial interview was conducted by officers before a forensic interview with the Child Advocacy Center.
The victim said Hobbs sexually assaulted her for the past several years. The criminal complaint details specifics from the victim’s own words. Graphic sex acts were alleged to have happened including penetrative and oral assault.
Logan County Deputies obtained two separate warrants on May sixth for Hobbs. One warrant for the charge of Incest and the other for the charge of Sexual Assault in the First Degree.
According to the complaints, the most recent incident occurred on April 25th when the victim was on a court ordered visit with the defendant. The victim alleged Hobbs begged for oral sex and complied with the request “in fear for her safety.”
Hobbs, currently at the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden, has a cash bond set at $250,000.
