Shorthanded Hillbillies grind out 18-point win over Montcalm

MAN Connor Booth, Adex Martin and Jaxon Vance came up big for the shorthanded Man Hillbillies Monday night, December 22nd, guiding the Hillbillies to a third straight win to start the season.
Playing without three starters, Booth, Martin and Vance combined to score 31 points and the Hillbillies (3-0) grinded out a 51-33 victory over the Montcalm Generals at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.
Booth flirted with a double-double, finishing with a game-high 16 points and seven rebounds. Booth did most of his damage in the first quarter, knocking down three 3-pointers and scoring 11 points to stake Man to an 18-8 lead after one quarter of play.
Martin added eight points, hauled down six rebounds and dished out four assists on 4-of-5 shooting from the field while Vance finished with seven points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists for the Hillbillies.
Montcalm jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Man scored the next 11 points. The Hillbillies would lead by 16 at the half and lead by as many as 20 points in the second half.
Grayson Sanders had 11 points and six rebounds, and Bryson Wingler filled the stat column, finishing with eight points, six rebounds and four steals for Man.
Korbin Nunn and Dylan Thomason each finished with eight points for the Generals (0-3). Donovan Reed had six points, nine rebounds and three steals.
Montcalm returns to action Saturday against Braxton County in the Winter Classic at Summersville. Man will host River View on December 29.
