The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 597 additional cases of COVID-19 Friday.
As of 10 o’clock this morning, West Virginia has 17,761 active cases of coronavirus.
Twenty deaths were reported over the last 24-hours. Since the onset of the outbreak, 2,100 West Virginians have succumbed to coronavirus.
Today’s daily positive infection rate is 4.26%.
Today’s county alert map reports 8 counties in the red category. Boone, Mingo and Wayne are amongst the red zone counties today.
Orange counties include Logan, Wyoming and 24 other counties.
Twelve counties are gold, and eight counties are yellow.
Summers County is the only green county today.
W.Va. has administered 205,252 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of 10 o’clock this morning, 88,807 residents have received both rounds of shots.
