Workforce West Virginia released not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for each county in W.Va. for the month of February.
Unemployment rates decreased in 42 counties, increased in 8 counties, and remained unchanged in 5 counties.
Boone County’s unemployment rate was 8.1 percent; Lincoln County had an unemployment rate of 9 percent; for Logan County that number was 9.1 percent; McDowell County had an unemployment rate of 10.5 percent; Mingo County had the highest unemployment rate in the Coalfields at 10.9 percent; Wyoming County’s unemployment rate was 9 percent.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased three tenths of a percentage point to 6.2 percent in February 2021.
