The Logan County Health Department confirmed more cases of COVID-19 Monday afternoon.
Eleven new infections were confirmed through laboratory testing over the weekend. Eleven recoveries were also reported Monday.
Since the first of May, the health department has confirmed 69 cases of COVID-19
Last week, Health Department Director Steve Browning said the recent increase in cases is attributed to schools and athletics outbreaks. According to an update from Logan County Schools, 38 infections of the virus have been confirmed since Tuesday.
Logan County has 73 active cases, 3,009 recoveries and 89 fatalities for a cumulative total of 3,171 cases of COVID-19.
Five people are hospitalized.
