900 New Cases of Virus Confirmed Over Last 24 Hours in W.Va.


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 921 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Tuesday morning, W.Va. currently has 28,577 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 1,634 West Virginians have succumbed to COVID-19. Forty people died in the last 24 hours.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 8.68%.


According to the color-coded map released this morning by the state DHHR, 39 counties are in the restrictive red zone.


Fourteen counties are orange including Logan and Wyoming.


Clay and McDowell counties are gold.


W.Va. has administered 93,481 doses of the first round of vaccine. As of press time, 13,764 residents have received both rounds of shots.
