The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 498 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

As of 10 o’clock this morning, West Virginia has 4,915 active cases.

Currently, 396 West Virginians have succumbed to the virus since the onset of the outbreak.

Governor Jim Justice, during today’s virtual conference on COVID-19 response, reported 21 active outbreaks in public schools. Justice also reported 43 long-term care facilities and 12 churches with outbreaks.

“The amount of green has diminished,” Justice said about the COVID-19 state map. "Now, we are reflecting outbreaks all over our state. We should all be on guard even more than we are today.”

According to the state DHHR color-coded map released Friday morning, Mingo and Wyoming counties are orange.

Boone, Logan and Wayne counties are yellow.

Lincoln and McDowell counties are green.

Doddridge County is the only county in red.
