Arrest made in case of body found in Lincoln County

PARKERSBURG A suspect is in custody and accused of killing a woman whose body was discovered in Lincoln County.

According to West Virginia State Police, 35-year-old Tony Williamson was arrested Monday morning in Parkersburg. Williamson has been charged in the death of a woman found near Harts last week.

Following the discovery of the body and completion of an autopsy, investigators confirmed the victim died of a single gunshot wound. State police identified the victim as 34-year-old Marissa Brandjes.

Williamson is charged with first-degree murder and was being held at Parkersburg Correctional Center awaiting arraignment.
