LOGAN This summer, The Aracoma Story, Inc. (TAS) will once again make history come alive this summer onstage at the iconic Liz Spurlock Amphitheater in Chief Logan State Park with Deadly Divide - The Hatfield and McCoy Story,

In a partnership with the Hatfield-McCoy Convention and Visitors Bureau, TAS will revive America’s most infamous family feud—an epic that has captivated generations and entered the folklore of the Appalachian region and beyond.

Auditions are open to the public and will take place on Friday, May 16th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday the 17th between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The audtions will be conducted in the Savas Kostas Performing Arts Center on Southern’s Logan Campus.

Set against the rugged backdrop of the West Virginia–Kentucky border, Deadly Divide dives deep into the decades-long conflict between the Hatfields of West Virginia and the McCoys of Kentucky. The feud, which raged in the later half of the nineteenth century, was led by patriarchs William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield and Randolph “Ole Ran’l” McCoy.

According to a press release from TAS, the historical drama brings to life the raw emotions, intense rivalries, and tragic consequences that defined a conflict born of honor, vengeance, and pride.

“This production isn’t just a play,” said Director Bill France, “it’s a living, breathing part of Appalachian history. We’re thrilled to present it once more for audiences from across the region and beyond.”

The show opens on July 25th and runs for three weekends.
