Baisden throws for four touchdowns in Wildcats win over Indians

LOGAN Adam Baisden threw four touchdown passes and the Logan Wildcats used a 19-point fourth quarter to pull away from Sissonville and defeat the Indians 46-21 on September 1 at Willis-Nisbet Stadium.


Baisden had a 10-yard pass to Gage Green and connected with Caden Justice for a 52-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter to give Logan a 14-0 lead before Sissonville’s Ethan Taylor answered with a 4-yard in the final minute of the first quarter to close the gap to 14-6.


Baisden then tossed a 34-yard touchdown to Rylee Jones to start the fourth quarter scoring for Logan and finished the scoring with a 45-yard scoring strike to Chase Hatfield.


Baisden completed 9 of 12 passes for 187 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also hauled in two receptions for 37 yards and carried the ball three times for six yards.


Justice caught three passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns, he also caught a 19-yard pass from Drew Berry in the second quarter. Gabe Adkins caught four passes for 50 yards and Jones had two receptions for 33 yards.


Berry completed 8 of his 12 passes for 88 yards as he and Baisden combined to complete 17 of 24 passes for 275 yards and five touchdowns.


Taylor had 65 yards rushing on 13 attempts and completed 13 of 30 passes for 130 yards for Sissonville. Evan Taylor hauled in six passes for 56 yards and Nathan Young had four catches for 52 yards including a 5-yard touchdown that brought Sissonville to within seven, 21-14, in the second quarter.


Ian Cox had a 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter for the Indians, who fell to 0-2 with the loss.


Adkins rushed for 47 yards on nine carries and scored on a pair of 1-yards runs in the second half for Logan.


Logan improved to 1-1 with the win and will travel to Poca this coming Friday night in search of its second straight win. ac
