Belligerent Logan man keeps city police on toes over night

LOGAN In the City of Logan, police were kept out all hours for last weekend primarily due to the actions of one man.
According to the City of Logan Police Department, a series of serious charges have been filed against 31-year-old Claude Joseph Adams of Logan. A criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court shows numerous charges including: Disorderly Conduct, Indecent Exposure, Assault of a Healthcare Worker, Harassment, Refusal to Fingerprint, Obstruction, Public Intoxication and Pedestrian in the Roadway.
Logan Patrolman J. Evans reports he was called out by 911 to a Dingess Street address for a man reportedly being disorderly, combative and was refusing EMS care. The patrolman said he arrived and convinced Adams to accept the medical attention since he had a severe laceration on the side of his head. Patrolman Evans said he was advised the defendant took a handful of pills, fell and ended up striking his head on the concrete.
Later in the night around 3:30 a.m. Sunday (8/9), Patrolman Evans was searching for a juvenile reported missing from a Charles Street residence. The missing juvenile son of the woman that filed the report said he was heading to his father’s residence at Mt. Gay.
According to the complaint, police learned the juvenile was at the American Legion parking lot with another male individual that was following and harassing the juvenile.
Patrolman Evans wrote he arrived to find the original defendant from hours earlier and in contact with the child. According to the complaint, Adams was allegedly reaching around the waistband and shorts of the juvenile and was taken into custody soon after. According to the juvenile, he made his trip to around Little Ceasars when he said he ran into Adams. The juvenile reported Adams followed him back to the parking lot of the Legion where a group of people were.
Patrolman Evans reported Adams as belligerent and said he yelled profanities at medical staff at Logan Regional Medical Center while hen received treatment for the original laceration he suffered earlier in the night.
Magistrate court said bond at $10,000 for the felony charge of Assaulting a Healthcare Worker. Another $10,000 was assessed for the remainder of charges for a total bond of $20,000. Adams remains at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden.
