AM Stone | WVOW News

LOGAN An announcement planned for Wednesday concerning economic development in Logan County was postponed.

Governor Jim Justice was to be in the Logan area Wednesday afternoon for the unveiling of a “major economic development,” however that announcement was postponed.

An announcement of new job creation in at the Earl Ray Tomblin Industrial Park at Holden was postponed late Tuesday afternoon. Previously, the announcement was pushed back to two o’clock from the original set time of one o’clock.

According to an email about the announcement’s delay, Logan County Development Authority Executive Director Rocky Adkins said the postponement was due to “,circumstances beyond our control.”

During Tuesday’s Logan County Commission meeting, WVOW inquired a specific reason why the announcement was delayed. Commission President Diana Barnette said no reason was given and said it was the governor’s call.

The industrial park is located adjacent to the Southwestern Regional Jail on Gaston Caperton Drive.

A new date and time for the announcement has not been made public.
