Bison rally past Tigers, win 12-9 in extra innings

CHAPMANVILLE Evan Panaro's sacrifice fly broke a 9-9 tie during a three-run eighth as the Buffalo (Putnam) Bison rallied past the Chapmanville Tigers 12-9 on Wednesday evening at Ted Ellis Field.
Noah Criner and Hunter Rutan scored on a pair of Chapmanville (5-10) errors to put Buffalo ahead 12-9.
Buffalo (10-8) trailed 6-4 entering the top of the seventh, but scored five runs to take a 9-6 lead before Chapmanville plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings.
Panaro started the seventh inning rally with a run-scoring single to bring the Bison within one run. Anthony Pitchford put the Bison on top, 7-6, with his two-run single and Caiden Craig's two-run single made it 9-6.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jacob Vance had a two-run single, and Peyton Dingess tied it with his sacrifice fly.
Gunner Lucas' RBI ground out in the first put the Tigers ahead 1-0.
Rutan scored on an error in the second tied the game at 1-1, and Craig's two-run double gave the Bison a 3-1 lead.
Craig was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs and Panaro went 1-for-4 with two RBIs for Buffalo.
Jaxon Topping scored on Kaleb Burford's ground out and Jake Hainer scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-3 after two innings.
Luca Signorini's solo home run in the fifth gave Buffalo a 4-3 lead. Signorini started on the mound for Buffalo and received a no decision after allowing eight runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and three walks in six innings.
Chapmanville plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-4 lead. Dingess had an RBI groundout and Caden Akers added a two-run single.
Panaro (3-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts in two innings.
Brackston Kirk took the loss for Chapmanville after allowing three runs - one earned - on two hits and one walk in 1 1/3 innings.
Tiger starter David Browning allowed four runs - one earned - on five hits, walked five and struck out five in 5 2/3 innings.
Signorini was 2-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and two runs, Pitchford went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs and Rutan was 1-for-2 with three runs scored for Buffalo.
Pridemore was 2-for-5 and scored twice, Vance went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Akers had one hit and two RBIs and Dingess drove in two runs for the Tigers.
