Bob Weisner Honored by Logan County Commission and L.E.A.S.A.

Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority Executive Director Roger Bryant presented the Logan County Commission with a proclamation for adoption during the commission meeting Thursday afternoon. The proclamation is in honor of the late Bob Weisner’s service as a L.E.A.S.A. board member and president.

Bryant read the proclamation.

“Where as, Bob Weisner did serve as an example of leadership and sound fiscal responsibility to the other members of L.E.A.S.A. board of directors in serving as its president and secretary for over 17 years.”

All three commissioners spoke fondly of the retired WVOW News Director. Commissioner Danny Ellis spoke candidly about Weisner's integrity for reporting news.

“Bob reported things,” Ellis said. “He didn’t create stories. He just told it the way it was.”

The proclamation was adopted unanimously.

Bob Weisner began his career at WVOW in 1974. He served at news director between 1976 and his retirement in 2010.

He was inducted into the West Virginia Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2017.

Weisner passed away December 11th.
