Body found near tracks in Henlawson

HENLAWSON   Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Monday morning along the railroad tracks in Henlawson.



UPDATE 1/9/24 11:12 AM : West Virginia State Police have identified the individual discovered is a secluded area of adjacent to the tracks. According to troopers, the body is that of 47-year-old Roberta Lynn Watts, of Henlawson.


They say the body had been in the location for a short period.


According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers received a call railroad employees around eleven o'clock Monday morning.


When troopers arrived on the scene, they say a preliminary investigation did not reveal any signs of trauma or injury.


The body was sent to the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine cause of death.


No other information is available at this time.
