CHAPMANVILLE A Chapmanville man arrested on charges including strangulation.
A disturbance call summoned West Virginia State Police to a residence on Brushy Fork Road Monday, February nineteenth. According to the criminal complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court, troopers located the defendant in a vehicle leaving the residence. Identified as 23-year-old Michael Anthony Conley, the complaint stated Conley was in an emotional state and allegedly explained that he, his mother and ex-wife had been in a physical altercation.
According to police, the suspect’s mother said that Conley had taken her cell phone and was hiding it. The complaints states that Conley admitted to taking the phone. The ex-wife told police Conley was looking at her phone when an altercation ensued. She said the defendant got her down on the bed and strangled her. Red marks observed on the victim’s throat and blood marks on her face.The mother and ex wife alleged they tried to call 911 and their phones were taken away and the landline disabled.
Conley is charged with strangulation and depriving a person of emergency services. Magistrate Dwight Williamson set bond at $100,000 ten percent cash or surety.
