In high school basketball action, the Chapmanville Tigers remained undefeated on the young season against Sissonville Thursday night. The Tigers overwhelmed the Indians with a final score 77-35 at Danny Godby Gymnasium. The win improves Chapmanville’s season to 3-0 and sends Sissonville to 0-4 on the year.
The Tigers fell behind for the only time in the game at 3-2, and then proceeded to go on an 18-0 run to open the game and had a 33-18 lead into the break.
In the second half, Chapmanville continued to take advantage of Sissonville turnovers as they collected 24 turnovers on the evening and then went to work from the outside. The Tigers knocked down seven three-pointers for the game. Chapmanville has hit six or more threes in all three of their games this season so far.
The Tigers also went 16-22 from the free-throw line on the evening. Sophomore Zion Blevins closed with 17 points for the game. Junior Brody Dalton added 15 points in the win. Sophomore Drew Berry also eclipsed double figures as he closed the game with 10 points.
Eleven of Chapmanville's 13 players scored on the evening.
Chapmanville will travel to Tennessee next week to take part in several games over the holidays.
