CHARLESTON   Chapmanville won its third golf match of the season as the Tigers won a quad match with Class AAAA George Washington, Class AAA Nitro and Class AA Sissonville at the Little Creek Country Club Wednesday afternoon.

Perhaps the most impressive victory of the season, Chapmanville shot a nine hole team total of 9-over-par 153 and bested George Washington and Sissonville, who tied for second after shooting a 41-over-par 185, by 41 strokes. Nitro was 73 shots and finished fourth with a team total of 82-over-par 226.

Chapmanville placed five golfers in the top five and all six individuals in the top nine. Justus Mann and Gavin Stollings shared medalist honors with a low round of 37. Isaac Walters was third with a 38, Cameron Wooten finished fourth after carding a 41 and Cooper Evans tied for fifth with George Washington's Max Barnette after both golfers fired a 42.

Sissonville teammates Gavin Atkins and Layne Coffman shot a 43 to tie for seventh and Chapmanville's Zeke Tiller and George Washington teammates Andrew Isaac and Benjamin Nelson each fired a 46 to tie for ninth.

The Tigers, winners of two straight matches, will look to make it three in a row when they return to the links Monday afternoon for a quad match with Herbert Hoover, Logan and Sherman at the Logan Country Club.
