A woman was arrested and charged with misdemeanors assault and battery and felonious strangulation.
On November 22, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Hidden Valley area following a 911 call reporting a fight.
According to a criminal complaint in county magistrate court, the incident evolved from a previous dispute.
The complaint alleged Shalee Rene Meade, of Chapmanville, grabbed the victim by the throat and threatened to kill them.
The victim broke free and called 911. Moreover, the victim alleged Meade retrieved a pistol from the ground and fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Meade is charged with assault, battery and felony strangulation.
