Cooper tosses no-hitter, Cline drives in four as Lady Hillbillies win sectional opener

MAN Morgan Cooper tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 15 and McKinlee Cline drove in four runs as third seed Man blanked sixth seed Tolsia, 17-0, in five innings in the Class A Region IV Section I tournament at the Man Softball Complex.


Cooper, who tossed a perfect game against Westside on March 29, issued a fourth inning walk to a Tolsia batter with one out. At the plate, Cooper went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored.


Cline was 1-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and four RBIs while Kirsten Ellis was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Olivia Ramsey went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Man.


The Lady Hillbillies pounded out 12 hits in the contest and got one hit apiece Kaylee Hicks, Zoey Jackson, Baylee Muncy and Ashlee Tomblin.


Hicks scored three runs and drove in two while Muncy scored two runs and drove in one and Tomblin finished with one RBI.


Jacklynn Barnett had one RBI and Trista Marcum scored one run for Man.


Man plated three runs in the first, one in the second and 13 more in the third inning.


Third seed Man improved to 10-3 on the season.
