COVID-19 Cases Continue to Surge in W.Va.


The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,120 new cases of COVID-19.


As of 10 o’clock Thursday morning, West Virginia has 17,428 active cases of coronavirus.


Since the onset of the outbreak, 789 West Virginians have succumbed to the COVID-19. Eleven people have died in the last 24 hours.


West Virginia has 51,025 cumulative cases of the virus.


Today’s daily positive infection rate is 6.94%.


According to the state DHHR color-coded map released this morning, Wyoming and Wayne counties are in the restrictive red category.


Boone County is orange.


Logan, Lincoln and Mingo counties are yellow.


McDowell County is green.
