Delbarton man charged with soliciting a minor on Snapchat

LOGAN  A Delbarton man is in jail on charges of soliciting a minor on Snapchat

 

The West Virginia State Police received a complaint on the matter last Wednesday, April tenth. According to that criminal complaint filed with the Logan County Magistrate Court, 38-year-old William Robert Morris was allegedly using sexually explicit language an under aged victim identified as “DJ.”

 

Senior Trooper RL Morgan observed messages and pictures of messages from the social platform Snapchat between the accused and the victim. Messages contained descriptions of sexual acts and requests for pictures of the victim’s breasts. Morris allegedly sent a picture of his penis. The victim stated the incident happened on March seventeenth of this year.

 

According to the criminal complaint, Morris admitted to sending the messages during a statement he provided to Trooper Morgan at the Logan Detachment of state police.

 

Morris faces one felony count soliciting a minor via access device. The charge carries a maximum sentence of ten years if convicted.

 

Logan County Magistrate Dave Adkins set cash-only bond of $75,000.
