LOGAN Residents are being warned of scam callers posing as a Logan County Deputy.


The Logan County Sheriff’s Office says it’s received multiple reports of a caller identifying themselves as “Deputy Howard” and calling from the number 304-994-8681. Deputies say this caller will demand money for something like a warrant, bail, fines or other legal matters.


The Sheriff’s Office says it will never ask for money over the phone and is advising residents who receive a call of this nature to not engage with this caller, hang up the phone immediately and report the incident to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. The office’s number is 304-792-8590.
