Evy Altizer's walk off double, Chloe Murphy's 16 strikeouts lift Lady Tigers past Point Pleasant 1-0 in nine innings

CHAPMANVILLE   Evy Altizer hit a walk off double with two outs in the ninth inning and Chloe Murphy struck out 16, lifting the seventh-ranked Lady Tigers to a 1-0 victory over ninth-ranked Point Pleasant Wednesday evening at Ronnie "Mule" Ooten Field.


Altizer lined a 2-0 pitch of Lady Knights (11-12) starter Rylann MacKnight (7-3) to left field with two outs to score Brooke Christian, who doubled with one out in the ninth, with the games lone run.


Murphy (7-4) scattered four hits and recorded her eighth game with 12 or more strikeouts this season.


MacKnight allowed one run on six hits and struck out two batters in 8 2/3 innings.


Jayden Angel had two hits, and Victoria Musser and Josie Shobe each had one hit for Point Pleasant.


Altizer finished with two hits for Chapmanville (9-5) and Megan Brown, Mady Farley and Peyton Lusk each had one hit.
