RUTLEDGE A longtime Logan banker has died.


Eddie Canterbury passed away Tuesday in Rutledge, Tennessee. He was born at Holden.


Canterbury began his banking career at Logan Bank and Trust in 1970. Ten years later he was named Director. In 1982 he became CEO. He was named West Virginia Banker of the Year in the 2000’s and was appointed to the board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond among other services throughout his finance career.


He also used his knowledge to serve his community as well as his career. Canterbury served on many community boards such as the Logan Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, The Rec Center and the Logan County Charitable and Educational Foundation.


Canterbury was 78 years old.
