DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. Dakota Dalton led four double-digit scorers with 16 points as Class AAA No. 5 Chapmanville defeated Logan County (KY) 71-41 Friday afternoon on the first day of the 34th annual Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic at Warner Christian Academy.
Dalton knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the second half as the Tigers moved into the winner's bracket semifinals where they were to face Fairdale (KY) Saturday afternoon.
Jay Capers had nine first quarter points as Chapmanville (4-1) jumped out to a 20-4 first quarter lead over the Cougars.
Keaton Terry had 14, Benji Adkins 12 and Colton Brock finished with 10 points for Chapmanville.
Tyler Johnson scored nine points, Jaxon Tichenor had eight and Samson Hightower and Nick Thomas six each for Logan County (2-5).
