The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,233 new COVID-19 cases in its Thursday morning data release.
Those new cases are part of what are now 20,160 active COVID-19 cases in the Mountain State.
The state added 20 deaths Wednesday to take the overall total to 921.
Among those deaths – a 72-year-old female from Boone County.
Hospitalizations reported Thursday is a new high at 679 patients with 184 of those patients being treated in intensive care.
More than three dozen counties are either “red” or “orange” on the daily COVID-19 alert map.
Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the Coalfields today.
