WVOW News

CHARLESTON Governor Jim Justice declared a State of Preparedness Thursday afternoon due to the threat of flooding from rain forecasts in the Mountain State.

A statement from the Governor’s office today announced the state of preparedness for all 55 counties in the state.

The National Weather Service has forecast heavy rain, high wind and the potential for flooding.

The preparedness order allows for the posturing of personnel and resources by the West Virginia Emergency Management Division for quick response to any emergency. Coordinating agencies are on standby to report to the State Emergency Operations Center if needed.
